 The applications below are for the annual July 4th Jubilee and Winter (December) craft shows.  

JULY 4, 2012 CRAFT SHOW APPLICATION
         7th Annual Fourth of July Jubilee                                                                                          

at Kankakee County Fairgrounds, 213 W 4000 S Rd., Kankakee, Illinois 60901

July 4, 2012 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

1.    The Bourbonnais Grove Historical Society is proudly sponsoring the 6th annual (this is an established show running on July 4th for the past 21 years.) “4th of July Jubilee” craft show on July 4, 2012.  Pamela S. Ash, Craft Show Organizer, will coordinate the show.  The quality and workmanship of the arts and crafts will continue to exceed that of any other show held in this area; the addition of the Re-Sale area will offer items to those who have varied interests.  The show will run from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.  Set-up times: early day-before set-up 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. (you will NOT be allowed to set up BEFORE 2 p.m.); day of show 5:30 to 8:30 a.m.  All vendors MUST be ready to begin sales at 9 a.m. sharp July 4th. 

2.    For the craft show area, all items MUST be quality HANDMADE arts and crafts.  FIRST-TIME crafters to this show must send at least two (2) photos of work with application to determine acceptance into the “craft show” area.  Those who are determined to NOT have ‘handmade crafts’ will be assigned to the Re-Sale area.  Re-Sale (located separately from crafters) may include: wholesale, kits, commercial, antiques and collectibles, and new and general merchandise (this is NOT a garage sale).  Upon acceptance, spaces will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis (returning vendors will be assigned the same booth they had the previous year unless they request a different space).  ALL VENDORS MUST INCLUDE A 4”x9 ½” (SASE) SELF-ADDRESSED, 88¢ STAMPED ENVELOPE WITH APPLICATION AND PAYMENT (If you provide an e-mail address, you will NOT need to send a SASE)!    Phone applications are not accepted!  ALL replies must be received by June 4, 2012.   No refunds given for cancellations.  Vendors will receive a confirmation letter with more details one month before the show if not before.

3.    There will be 94 spaces located INSIDE the Expo Building (not air-conditioned, but I am told it keeps cool); there is unlimited grass area space OUTSIDE if you wish to put up your own E-Z up/tent.  All spaces (crafts and resale) will measure 10’ x 10’.  NO chairs or tables will be provided.  Electricity is (limited and) available INSIDE ONLY. You will not be allowed to drive in the building or on the grass area outside.  NO dismantling of booths until 3 p.m.  VENDORS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR REMOVAL OF ALL BOXES, PAPER, ETC. FROM THEIR BOOTH AREA AFTER THE SHOW! 

4.    Restroom facilities are available.  Food concessions will also be available.

6.    Pamela S. Ash, Bourbonnais Grove Historical Society, and/or Kankakee County Fairgrounds will not be responsible or liable for losses, accidents, breakage, weather-related, or any other tribulations before, during or after the show.  THE EXHIBITOR WAIVES ALL CLAIMS AGAINST THE ORGANIZER, SPONSOR AND/OR HOST.

NOTE: There were “22” on the waiting list for the 2010 Winter Show; spaces were FULL “2” weeks BEFORE the show.  I cannot stress enough the importance of applying EARLY for this popular show!!!  (If you delay, you will not get in the show.)

POLICY~All items must be handcrafted.  Crafters NEW to the show must include two (2) photos of items with application.  The Historical Society will also allow distributors/representatives (limited to one per company), and those with quality retail items; they will be placed in an area together.

FOOD ITEMS~Any food to be merchandised must be covered, no exceptions.  (In the past, the Kankakee County Health Department has required a ‘one-day’ permit to sell food items.)

BOOTH RESERVATION~You are urged to APPLY IMMEDIATELY as spaces are generally full at least two weeks before the show date!  (A “wait list” is implemented!  If you KNOW you have to cancel, I urge you to call early so any empty spaces can be filled – there are people WAITING for a spot!)  Booths measure 10’ x 10’.  Electricity is available for an additional $7.00 fee.  (There are limited electric spaces available; you MUST bring ample power cords.)  You are provided your BOOTH SPACE ONLY; TABLES AND CHAIRS WILL NOT BE PROVIDED.  All reservations are non-refundable.  All booths will be assigned as applications are received and on a “first-come, first-served” basis!  Special requests will be honored if possible.  If you are returning and get your application in by the early deadline (March 27, 2011)– you will get your “same space” assignment as last year!  ALL applications due by NOV. 10, 2011.  If your application is not received early, PLEASE don’t expect special requests to be honored !!!)

►►► Include a self-addressed, stamped (88¢, large, 4”x 9” business size) envelope to receive confirmation instructions and flyers.  (Expect information in the mail soon after the deadline date, if not before.)  If you prefer to receive notification via email, please provide your email address; no SASE needed.  Lunch will be offered as long as a provider can be secured.  .  The Historical Society will furnish coffee and doughnuts to the crafters. 

SET UP~The Kankakee County Fairgrounds will be accessible on Fri., Dec. 9 between 2 and 5 p.m. (you will not be allowed to set up until 2:00 p.m.) OR at 6:00 a.m. on Sat., Dec. 10.  You may NOT drive into the building!  Helpers will be around to give directions if needed.  Exhibitor parking will be available on the NORTH side of the Expo Building to allow ample room for shoppers.  After the show, all persons and items must vacate the building immediately.  You must leave your booth area clean and remove all trash.

BOY SCOUTS~Depending on availability, Boy Scouts may be available for help carrying in for set-up on Sat. morning.
